Meet Patrick—a handsome chocolate Lab mix with a heart as sweet as his coat is shiny. Patrick is one of the first pups we’ve had the joy of helping here at Houndly. Thanks to your support, we were able to pay off his adoption fees, giving him a better shot at the happy ending he deserves.
Patrick’s story is like so many others: he was picked up by animal control and waited patiently at the shelter, hoping someone would come for him. No one did. But that didn’t dampen his spirits.
At around 2 to 3 years old, Patrick is the perfect mix of youthful energy and grown-up manners. He weighs in at a cuddly 49 pounds—just the right size for lap-sitting, if you ask him. He loves playing with other dogs, handing out kisses, and soaking up all the attention he can get.
One of the biggest barriers to adoption is the cost. Even the most lovable pups like Patrick can get overlooked simply because their adoption fees are out of reach for some families. By covering those fees, we help clear the path between a pup and their perfect home. It’s one less obstacle—and one more reason for someone to say, “Let’s meet that dog!”
